Last night picked up Papasito at the airport and took the same bus to the same hotel from last week. After checking in we went to Khaosan road where we had a beer and met a Thai fellow, Go, with his buddy Bob. The next day we visited the Tall Buddha and the Lucky Buddha (nothing so special) and then Wat Pho. Afterwards Papasito took a cab to the room, and I visited Wat Arun on the other side of the river which I liked a lot. It must be ten or twelve storeys high and it is decorated with bits of Chinese porcelain which was used as ballast in the ships coming in to port back in those days. Then I walked through an amulet market on the way back. Some of the Thais really take amulets seriously and wear them for good luck.
But most of the day was spent shooing away touts, and I really had no mood to do anything else so went back to the room about 4pm. I'll be glad to leave Bangkok.
